Julieta, the jewel who stars in the story of love and art between Sara and Luismi.
What's the story of your relationship?
(L) It was more of a coincidence. In 2021, we were each living in our respective cities: Sara in Valladolid and I in Granada. Some mutual friends organized a party in Madrid, and we each attended separately. I saw her at the party that day and liked her immediately, but I never got to talk to her.
A few days later, I got his contact information and noticed his special sensitivity from the start. We had many things in common, which really caught my attention. Seeing that everything was going in his favor, I decided to play my cards right, and we connected immediately; at first through texts and letters, then calls, and later, dates in Madrid. We haven't been apart since.
At first, the distance didn't make things easy for us. Each of us had our own work projects in our cities; Sara is an art restorer as well as a historian, and she was just getting off the ground with Cauma Project, an art restoration workshop. I had recently decided to dedicate myself to photography.
The road hasn't been easy, but after comings and goings, trips, a thousand stories and adventures, today we are months away from sharing a home.

What occasion did you choose Antiqua for? Which piece did you choose and why?
(S) Luismi chose the Juliet ring to propose to me last May in Madrid, and he was absolutely right. That day was an important date for us (we'd been dating for three years), and I was convinced that it would be just that, an even more special celebration because of that date and with a little gift involved. So I was completely caught off guard when, after dinner and "our walk," with a few surprises along the way, the gift was a ring to propose to me.
(L) I chose Antiqüa because I knew Sara loved it; we'd both been following the project for a while. I don't know much about jewelry, but I do know Sara, and I know she's different from other women. In the same way, you can tell Antiqüa is different from other jewelry stores, so I didn't even look anywhere else.
I chose the Juliet ring because it's elegant and classic: the setting and its details remind me a lot of the temple columns of Greece and Rome. As for the stone color, I requested a green tourmaline. Green is "her color," the color I most identify with her, the color of her eyes, the color of nature, and also the color of the Cauma Project.
(S) There is a detail that I love about this piece and I find it very special, and that is that when you put it in the light, the light passes through it completely and creates the same effect as the sun passing through the leaves of the trees, something that has fascinated me since I was little and that I discovered, thanks to Luismi, that there is only a name for it in Japanese: Komorebi.

What values do you share with Antiqua?
(S and L) We're both deeply attracted to art. I think our love of beauty and well-made things is what unites us most with Antiqüa. Our work and values make all of these aspects a very important part of our daily lives and our way of seeing the world. We greatly value handmade things, processes that require time and patience, and a sensitive approach to imagery...What role does art play in your life?
(S) For me, art has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. My grandfather was a great artist and was my first contact with art. Both Luismi and I have our own personal projects, where we develop that more creative and artistic side of ourselves. I also inherited my grandfather's passion for photography; I loved messing around with his cameras and looking at his old photos over and over again.
Photography is precisely one of the things that most connects me to Luismi. "Discretos" (the name of his line of wedding-related work) represents the more artistic side of his profession, but he also loves to do work more related to advertising or documentary style. He truly has a gift for photography. In my case, Cauma Project is the project I started in 2021 as an open window to my artistic work and my way of looking at the world. On my Instagram and TikTok accounts, I share everything I'm working on. I mainly teach art restoration processes, in a special and, I think, unusual way.
At what upcoming event would you feature Antiqüa? Which piece would you choose?
(S) I would definitely choose the Maria Teresa or Artemis earrings as a wedding gift for one of my sisters. I think they're incredibly flattering and last a lifetime, the kind that can be passed down from mother to daughter.(L) I'm sure the next important step in our lives will be the moment when, God willing, our first child arrives. I love to mark an event in a special way, and what better way than by giving something I know Sara will love. I think I'd choose a necklace, but I won't say which one, so that if the moment arises, it will still be something very special.
Sara and Luismi. At Antiqua, we believe that every piece of jewelry holds unique moments, stories that transcend time. They are precious not only for their beauty, but also for the emotions and memories they represent.
